Plethora of Features From iOS 7

Hemant Verma - 5:37 PM

Since the announcement last June of the upcoming release of iOS 7 this fall of 2013, everybody is on the edge of their seats waiting for the official and final roundup of features this new operating system from Apple has to offer. From the time it was announced, several Beta versions of the said operating system were released. From Beta 1 released last June 10, 2013 to the latest that is Beta 6 which is so far the newest and addresses the issue regarding iTunes, stability and speed improvements. The official and final release of the software this September will however unveil all the amazing features that iOS 7 has to offer.

In the meantime, let us discuss all the features that Apple has mentioned about iOS 7. Indeed, this is the biggest change so far since the beginning of iPhone. And it is not hard to miss all the notable changes in the overall redesigned user interface. The design of the UI is a combination of new icons, layering, translucency, polished typography and a parallax 3D effect giving new dimension and depth to the Home screen.

Check Out Some New in iOS7

According to Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at Apple Inc., there are ten major changes and feature additions that we should look forward to with the new operating system.

Control Center

This feature provides a quick access to settings such as brightness, AirPlay, AirDrop, media controls, Airplane mode and also a shortcut to apps like calculator, flashlight, compass and camera.

Multitasking

Enables user to switch between apps, updates your content before launching and the capability to preview all running apps.

AirDrop

Sharing documents, photos, videos and contacts made easy with just a tap at the Share button. This technology uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, highly secure because of encrypted transfers so you never have to worry.

Camera

Offers new photo filters and four different shoot modes (panoramic photo, video, square photo and still). The option to preview before applying filter makes it easier if you ever want to change your mind.

Panoramic or Live Wallpapers

This feature is similar to that of Google’s Android screen where your wallpaper moves with a swipe from left to right. It has preload wallpapers like bubbles, ripples, dew drops and many more. The static wallpaper is used based on the gyroscope input, wherein when a panoramic photo is taken with the use of the Camera app it will move while you move from left to right.

Photos

Each photo uses the EXIF data wherein it is sorted by location and date to browse through photos easier and faster.

Safari

The browsing is better with the unified smart search field and going back and forth between tabs is easy with just a swipe. Other changes include parental controls and infinite tabs.

Music and iTunes Radio

Available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac PC and Apple TV for free, it features streaming radio stations. You can choose from over 200 genre-based stations.

App Store

A collection of popular apps is now easy to reach with Apps Near Me feature. It shows you apps relevant to your current location and update your apps automatically.

Siri

A redesigned interface that answers questions faster, returns calls, play voicemail, controls iTunes radio, searches Wikipedia and Twitter too. It has male and female voice to choose from and makes it easier to use and understand. Siri says “Your wish is my command!”

Final Words....!

Although these ten major changes or features were the only one users are possibly looking for, other features like Audio-only calling for FaceTime, Find My iPhone, Notification Center syncing and Wi-Fi Hotspot 2.0 might not be mentioned in other new releases but we will have to wait for the final release to finally see all the great features iOS 7 has to offer.

Choosing Experts to Help with Online Marketing

Hemant Verma - 2:58 PM

When you bring in an expert to help you with your online marketing by contributing content to your blog or to your website, you are taking a substantial risk and you should be aware of that. There is no shortage of old adages that have to do with being judged by the company you keep. When you choose poor company, you’re going to find a lot of the work you may have put into establishing yourself as an expert on a given subject fading away as people begin to associate you with somebody who talks a lot, but who apparently doesn’t research what they say.

Custom Web Design vs Website Template

Hemant Verma - 12:31 PM

A custom web design means using a website designer to create your website from scratch, or building it yourself from scratch using your own knowledge of CSS and HTML. Using a website template is a little different. It may involve having most of the code written for you already, but it normally involves using a content management system program (CMS). This is a program that gives you a template or a skeleton website, and then allows you to add things to it and alter it without having to write the code yourself. You design the website on the platform, and the associated tools write the code for you.

Top Web Hosting Mistakes that Should be Avoid

Hemant Verma - 12:51 AM

There are so many web hosting options available that choosing the correct host can be a burden. Website owners should have a thorough understanding of the most common mistakes that are made when selecting a host in order to avoid these pitfalls themselves. Below are five of the most commonly made mistakes when it comes to choosing a web hosting service that are all easily avoidable.

Let's See Some Mistakes

1. Using One Web Hosting Service for Multiple Sites:

Many website owners actually own multiple sites. If all the sites are on one server that goes down then that means none of their sites will be accessible. This is particularly important when websites are used as a means to make money because no money can be made when the sites are down. While it is tempting to choose just one web host for the sake of convenience, bulk management, and possibly discounts it is important to consider how important this factor is to the sites. If having all the sites down at one time would be devastating then consider using multiple servers.

2. Choosing a Web Host with a Badly Designed Website:

When selecting a website host, it is worthwhile to examine their site. It should not have the appearance of being a “cookie cutter” site that lacks personality. It should always be functional and usable and have detailed facts, statistics, and contact information. In particular, there should always be a phone number that website owners should write down just in case their host site ever goes down. If a company claims to be an effective web hosting service their site should reflect that.

3. Selecting a Web Host with Bad Customer Service:

Most website owners do not realize some of the minute technical details that are involved in web hosting. For this reason, it is vital that the chosen host has a good reputation when it comes to customer service. If questions arise, and they inevitably will, it is important that they respond quickly with an adequate answer. As a test, try sending them an e-mail with a question and see how long it takes to get a response. Specifically, their employees who respond to technical inquiries should be skilled.

4. Using a “Free” Web Hosting Service:

More and more free web hosting services are popping up on the internet. Beware of those hosts that claim to be free. Most of the time they are free only because they put up advertisements on their hosted sites without giving the owner any say in the types of advertisements. In addition, they often lack certain features that most site owners would want to access. In other words, the old adage that states, “You get what you pay for” holds true when it comes to web hosting services.

5. Not Knowing What Requirements a Site Needs:

It is important that website owners have an understanding of the requirements that their site will need when it comes to web hosting services. In other words, how much disk space or bandwidth is required? How quickly does the site need to load for optimal search results? These are just a few of the many questions that need to be answered prior to selecting a web hosting service. So, as a website owner, conduct the necessary research or be prepared to ask the proper questions in order to find a host to fit your site.

Web hosting is a vital component of a successful website. It is important to be thorough when vetting the many potential web hosting services that are available.
